Bhubaneswar, 21st September 2024 – ASBM University, through its EDC-Incubation Centre, hosted a dynamic Startup Boot Camp aimed at fostering the entrepreneurial mindset among students. The event featured prominent industry leaders, including Chief Guest Mr. Paritosh Anand, Co-founder of Vatsalya Wellness and an alumnus of IIM Ahmedabad, and Guest of Honour Mrs. Chitranshi Baranwal, Co-founder of Vatsalya Wellness and recipient of the International Women Entrepreneurs Award 2024.
The program was inaugurated with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, led by Mr. Anand, Mrs. Baranwal, event coordinator Prof. Pratap Kumar Pati, and co-coordinator Dr. Hari Narayan Sahu, under the guidance of Dr. Eirene Leela Rout, Dean of the School of Business, ASBM University.
In her keynote address, Mrs. Baranwal shared her inspiring journey as both a microbiologist and a successful entrepreneur. She highlighted the crucial need for improved women’s wellness and menstrual health in India and showcased how Vatsalya Wellness is addressing these challenges through eco-friendly initiatives. Her story resonated deeply with the audience, particularly the young women in attendance, motivating them to pursue their own entrepreneurial ambitions.
Mr. Anand delivered a thought-provoking speech on the complexities of entrepreneurship, drawing from his extensive experience. He offered students valuable insights on how to navigate the challenges of starting a business and encouraged them to remain steadfast in validating and pursuing their innovative ideas. His interactive session with the students further sparked lively discussions about the future of startups in India.
The technical session saw enthusiastic student participation, with several teams presenting creative business ideas. After a rigorous review by the esteemed guests, Abhishek Pati, Anamika Tripathi, Amrita Jena, and Samia Jamal from the MBA 1st year secured the first prize for their outstanding concept. Sonalika Patra, a 3rd-year BBA student, won second place, and Priyanka Mohanty from BA LLB 1st year took home the third prize.
The event concluded with Dr. Eirene Leela Rout presenting the ASBM mementos to the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour in appreciation of their invaluable contributions. The Startup Boot Camp was attended by the university’s deans, faculty, and an enthusiastic student body, leaving a lasting impact on the participants by instilling the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship.
