In a resounding success for the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhubaneswar, the ongoing campus placement drive has witnessed a spectacular feat as a student secured a staggering offer of Rs 64 lakh per annum—the highest in the institute’s history. In the first 10 days of the placement season, IIT Bhubaneswar students collectively received a remarkable 200 job offers, signaling robust demand for their skills in the job market.
A testament to the institution’s academic prowess, the placement officer confirmed that this year’s highest offer not only marks a new milestone for IIT Bhubaneswar but is also the most substantial package ever extended during any IIT placement drive.
Leading corporations such as BPCL, HPCL, Reliance Industries Limited, Oracle Corporation, Microsoft, Google, Accenture Japan, Salesforce, Jaguar Land Rover, Zomato, Analog Devices, Tata Capital, Tata Steel, Mathworks, Tiger Analytics, GE Healthcare, and Jindal Stainless Limited have actively participated, offering a diverse range of opportunities for the talented pool of students.
Prof. Arun Kumar Pradhan, Head of the Institute’s Career Development Cell, expressed satisfaction with the encouraging trends in placements, stating, “Even though the global business scenario and the economy are facing challenges due to an economic slowdown, affecting placements across the country, placements at IIT Bhubaneswar are quite encouraging and gaining momentum.”
While concerns linger about a potential downturn in the number of recruiters amid global economic predictions, IIT Bhubaneswar has defied expectations, with students securing four international offers. The Computer Science department, in particular, stands out with a significant number of offers.
The institute’s placement drive, which commenced on December 1, is scheduled to continue until July next year. The success story unfolding at IIT Bhubaneswar not only reinforces its reputation as a leading educational institution but also showcases the resilience and excellence of its students in the face of challenging economic conditions globally.
